How It All Started

Who drives three hours for lobster?

That’s really how it all started. My father had introduced me to lobster at a young age and it quickly became my favorite. Always searching for great lobster, I found it in Noank, Connecticut at Abbott’s Lobster in the Rough. The best lobster roll in the world on the banks of the Mystic River, three hours away from home. One day while I was enjoying my delicious lobster, my mother called me and asked where I was. I told her that I was in Connecticut eating lobster. To which she yelled, “WHO DRIVES THREE HOURS FOR LOBSTER?” And so was borne Karmel Knocking Around and the quest for great food, travel, and adventure!
