Donald J. Trump exudes a persona that definitely is powerful…and whoever mentored him was in some way a marketing and PR genius. Because that persona cancels out just about all common sense. But what IS that persona?
When I was in 6th grade, the teacher went around the room and asked everyone what they wanted to be when they grew up. One person said they wanted to be a policeman. Another person said she wanted to be a nurse. When he came to me I said that I wanted to be emperor of the world. He threw me out of the class and sent me down to the principal’s office.
I was being a wise ass. Donald J. Trump is not being a wise ass. But perhaps someone should send HIM to the principal’s office.
The man acts like he IS an emperor. He truly believes he can do whatever wants, go wherever he wants, fuck whoever he wants, all without consequences. (That was a line from the miniseries Reacher – Season 1, but it appears to hold true for DJT). But in life, there IS consequences. Unfortunately, Donald Trump has not yet met up WITH those consequences.
Why?
Because not only does Trump act like an emperor or dictator, he acts like he is a deity. And why not…his followers behave and treat him like he IS a deity. He can say the most despicable things, he can treat people in the most horrible ways, he can create absolute chaos and, yet, people will continue to not only defend him, but bow to him and celebrate him.
I don’t get it. I wish someone would explain it to me. Because when I DO try to confront a Trump follower, a loyalist, instead of simply providing some insight to what might be a good reason to be in the Trump camp, I get hit with a steady stream of “well Biden…” and “ya know Obama…” and “that Kamala was…” and of course the good old “YOU HAVE TDS!”
Think about the people who not only defend this man, but laud him as a great leader. What is that about? Well…
A cult is group that has its own ideology separate from the rest of society with an “us vs. them” mentality, and will have an unquestioned leader who claims supreme knowledge or divinity, and who is followed with excessive devotion while exploited financially, emotionally, and/or sexually to advance the leader’s goals, with no obvious exit strategy or ability to leave, and any attempts to do so will be met with threats and/or retribution.
Is it ignorance? Is it that they don’t get it? Is it that they are just blind to the facts about Donald J. Trump?
Well here are just five interesting facts about Donald J. Trump just in case you didn’t know:
1) He lies and he is proud of it. The ONLY thing Donald J. Trump WILL admit to is that he lies. He is woefully proud of it. That’s what he told CBS correspondent Lesley Stahl during a face to face interview.
Trump bankrupted the United States Football League (USFL) because he was making a play to get his own NFL franchise and didn’t care the least how it affected the other USFL owners, the players, the executives and employees…he literally took the entire league down.
Trump actually bankrupted four casinos. (How dumb can you POSSIBLY be to bankrupt a casino?) Trump Taj Mahal (1991) filed for bankruptcy soon after opening. Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino (1992) filed Chapter 11. Trump Castle Hotel and Casino (1992) filed Chapter 11. Trump Hotels and Casino Resorts (2004) restructured but that just delayed the process and led to another bankruptcy.
Trump purchased the The Plaza Hotel in New York in 1988 and filed bankruptcy in 1992, losing control of it in 1995.
Trump purchased Trump Shuttle purchased for $365 million in 1989 and sold it 18 months later after losing $125 million.
Trump Entertainment Resorts went bankrupt in 2009.
Trump opened a non-profit, non-accredited school called Trump University in 2005. He was forced to close it down in 2010 and pay $25 million in settlements for allegations of fraud.
Trump started Trump Mortgage in 2006 and was forced to close it down within a year.
Trump embarked on a travel website in 2006 but was compelled to shut it down a year after launching it.
Trump Vodka (2006-2011) was discontinued after poor sales.
Trump Steaks (2007-2014) was discontinued also after poor sales.
With each and every business venture going south, he literally stiffed workers, contractors, investors…always walking away and leaving others in distress and holding the bag.
3) He has not WON lawsuits. The parties he attacked settled rather than risking two things – 1) costly litigation, win OR lose, and 2) the wrath of Trump and his revenge tactics taking a toll on business deals and practices if they beat him in court. As a matter of fact, he has LOST lawsuits, one in particular, and just refuses to pay up, even though he flaunts his billions of dollars of worth.
4) He has NOT settled 8 wars. He has settled NO wars. On the other hand, after he PROMISED that he was the “peace president” and there would be no wars with HIM…he started a war with Iran after initiating a military action and kidnapping a foreign leader in Venezuela.
When is enough going to be enough? When does the bravado, the persona, the absolute nonsense wear thin? When does HIS fake crap be accepted for what it actually IS?
