I took to social media making a statement that I would no longer post, or comment on another’s post, about any political subject. I had my reasons. But now I have my reasons for rescinding that statement. No Kings Day, the Young Republicans Telegram exchange, and the blatant lies by the Trump administration caused me to lift my personal blackout of politics on social media.
For background, I have never been a Democrat nor a Republican. I have never truly felt aligned with the ideologies of any party’s agenda. I remained neutral, like Switzerland, and instead focused on each individual issue and each individual themselves who was an elected official.
Let me say that I had always despised Joe Biden as an elected politician. I lobbied against him when he was a Senator, authoring a bill that violated the Constitution and took away a person’s right to due process. That was some years before he was on the Democratic Party’s list of Presidential candidates. Eventually, he was chosen as the partner to run with Barack Obama. A mistake by the Party.
Ah, Nancy Pelosi. This woman did not earn her right to be in the position she was in. Rather, she grabbed her seat in a special election that went virtually unnoticed, replacing her friend and mentor who stepped aside when she had gotten ill. And, somehow, she rose to power and became the leader of a progressive group of politicians who would lead to the downfall of the Democratic Party.
That’s right. The Democrats only have themselves to blame. The Party has built a membership of extremists who have some funny ideas on how politics should be viewed. Some of those extremists are known as The Squad – Ilhan Omar (Minnesota); Ayanna Pressley (Massachusetts); Rashida Tlaib (Michigan); Greg Casar (Texas); Summer Lee (Pennsylvania); Delia Ramirez (Illinois); and AOC, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (New York).
This group, in particular, in a word is an embarrassment to any political party.
My parents were Democrats. When I was in high school, many of my close friends became part of the Young Republicans movement. And when I went away to college, I helped those who remained close to home get elected to local offices as a ghost writer, writing their speeches for them. So I always felt like while I never declared as such, I was a part of the Young Republicans working behind the scenes.
Fast forward to today, and I am appalled, angered, embarrassed, and terrified by the revelation of the messages transmitted among the current day Young Republicans. I cannot comprehend how anyone, with a conscience, regardless of right, left, black, white, blue, gray, up, down, in, out…isn’t blown away by the diatribe, the horrible words, the people who are supposed to be the next generation of politicians so brazenly spouted.
J.D. Vance in response to the documented text exchange – private Telegram conversations of the Young Republicans – that was racist, anti-Semitic, joked about rape, that praised Hitler, and talked about sending political opponents to the gas chambers – rather than condemning the content of the messages, he actually defended the authors of those messages.
“This is what kids do. The critics should grow up. Focus on the real issues. Don’t focus on what kids say in group chats. But the reality is that kids do stupid things. Especially young boys. They tell edgy offensive jokes. Like that’s what kids do. And I don’t want us to grow up in a country where a kid telling a stupid joke, telling a very offensive stupid joke, is a cause to ruin their lives.”
None of it was a joke. I am EMBARRASSED to say that I was happy to be a part of a group of Young Republicans who were going to change the world. The Young Republicans are nothing what I grew up thinking they were. But, yet, neither are the Democrat or Republican Parties themselves.
And didn’t a number of people lose their jobs, get deported, for making comments that the Trump Administration and their followers thought were “offensive” with regard to Charlie Kirk? So only ruin the lives of people who oppose you, is that it?
That IS it. That’s the point.
Take a look at what is happening. Masked marauders going into US cities, Democrat cities only, and ripping people, even children, out of their homes, out of their vehicles, plucking them off the streets as they leave their places of employment. No warrant, no identification. They are not looking to put the clamps on crime, they are looking to put the clamps on the voices of the people. They are working diligently to make everyone afraid to speak out against the regime.
OK, you don’t want to look at it as a “king” situation, then put a name that you like on it. Because this is not a President of the United States honoring, respecting, and defending the Constitution of the United States and the Rule of Law.
Take a look at what is happening. The very people who were/are deemed to be political opponents of Donald Trump are being targeted and indicted on charges that are completely baseless and without any merit in law.
That is what an authoritarian and fascist government does. That is exactly how it starts…that is how it began in Nazi Germany.
Donald Trump talks about Abraham Lincoln. Abraham Lincoln did not go after his political adversaries even after a brutal and deadly Civil War. Lincoln simply had them lay down their arms, pledge their allegiance once again to the USA, and sent them home to reunite with their families. They were not prosecuted. They were forgiven.
Donald Trump has pardoned criminals who have done the work of his bidding, including an insurrection where HIS loyalists overran the security of the Capitol and injured law enforcement officers, while HE watched in absolute amusement, with total disregard for his own Vice President’s life.
Politicians, by their inherent nature are, in fact, liars. Some lie more than others. Some don’t lie by commission, but rather by omission. And some are guilty of paltering – the third version of lying – by making a statement that is true about something to make it seem like you are providing the truth when, in fact, you are merely avoiding the subject itself so that you can SAY that you weren’t giving a non-factual statement.
If something is repeated enough, people will believe it. I guess.
Trump and his cabinet propound constant lies about the opposition. The constant statements are made to instill a thought process in the vulnerable people who are clamoring for something better to happen in their lives because they believe the current system isn’t working to their benefit. The indoctrinating of the youth, the next generation.
For four years Far Right Republicans, and Donald Trump loyalists (because they are NOT the same faction) yelled to the rafters the ridiculously false propaganda statement that “all Democrats are pedophiles.”
Well, they stopped repeating that lie because we all know why. And the reason why rests in the transcripts of the Jeffrey Epstein files. The pedophiles, a lot of whom are members (or leaders) of the two factions mentioned, had to get off that topic so now they are on to a new false propaganda statement:
All Democrats are antifa, anarchists, Socialists, Marxists, illegal aliens, violent criminals, and even, get this, pro-Hamas.
Those are the words straight from Karoline Leavitt: “The Democrats main constituency is made up of Hamas terrorists, illegal aliens, and violent criminals. That is who the Democrat Party is catering to.”
And Speaker of the House Mike Johnson said: “Tomorrow the Democrat leaders are going to join for a big party on the National Mall. They are going to descend upon our capital for their much-anticipated for what they refer to as the “No Kings Rally.” We refer to it by its more accurate description as “I hate America rally.” And I am not sure how anyone can refute that. If you think about what’s going to happen here tomorrow…you are going to bring together the Marxists, the Socialists, the antifa advocates, the anarchists, and the pro-Hamas wing of the Far Left Democrat Party. That IS the modern Democratic Party.”
This is the same Mike Johnson who told the American public that Donald Trump was working on the inside as an informant for the FBI on the Jeffrey Epstein case.
The daily words spouted by Karoline Leavitt, and especially Speaker Mike Johnson, are the kind of words that can spark political violence aimed at peaceful protesters. Because the followers who actually believe these lies will run to protect what they believe to be the system that is working for THEM. Just like the participants in the January 6, 2021 raid on the Capitol.
Then, to throw gasoline on the fire, the Monday morning words of the Trump alliance at a press conference, again led by Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, were to tell the American public that the “No Kings” rallies/protests were “I Hate America” gatherings of extreme left Democrats.
Those same Republican leaders claimed that people who had the slogan “86 47” were calling for the death of the President of the United States. And that people, including the leaders of the Democratic Party were “Advocating for the death of the President of the United States.”
That is a completely false statement (not surprising) done to willfully and purposefully influence and rile up the Trump loyalists and continue to inflame the masses.
The slang term “86” means to reject, bar, or cancel. It doesn’t mean “death.”
Donald Trump is a pathological liar. A sociopath. His cabinet is nothing more than clowns that jump out of a little car at a circus. They all stare right at people, straight into the camera, and do one of two things – 1) refuse to answer the question with a re-direction or misdirection or 2) LIE.
But his loyal followers will believe ANYTHING that comes out of his mouth. Even if he is talking about something that is physically or mathematically impossible.
There was no “I Hate America” rallies. Nobody, none of the millions of people who attended those gatherings were there because they hate America. What they hate is the mockery being made of this country…the disrespect of the Rule of Law and the trampling of the Constitution.
To show the ignorance and absurdity of the people screaming these ridiculous lies, they don’t even know what “antifa” actually is and what it means. There is actually no “organized group” known as “antifa,” regardless of what Kristi Noem will tell you. The WORD or PHRASE “antifa” actually means “anti-fascist.” Why WOULDN’T any American be anti-fascist?
The Democrats shut down the government because they want to provide “1.7 TRILLION DOLLARS in healthcare to illegal aliens.” That is a false statement. And, yet, every person associated with the Trump administration will continue to make that statement. And every follower of the Trump contingency repeats that as if it’s a rallying cry against Democrats.
The Democrats shut down the government. That’s mathematically impossible. The Republicans control every branch of government. So why does Speaker Mike Johnson keep saying “The Schumer Shutdown?” For the same reason Trump would repeatedly refer to Covid-19 as “The China Flu.” Distraction, deflection, re-direct blame.
Why does Speaker Mike Johnson refuse to swear in Arizona Congresswomen-elect Adelita Grijalva? He has told so many ridiculous excuses to the press that he forgets what he said previously. He lies. The TRUTH is that he is intentionally holding back because he believes (probably correctly) that she will be the deciding vote for the release of the Epstein files. So Speaker Mike Johnson is technically guilty of obstruction?
Which actually exemplifies the REAL reason for the shutdown – Trump WANTS the shutdown to delay any proceedings with regard to the Epstein case. The same reason he, himself, is trying to rig the next election by insisting States maneuver and manipulate voting districts in order to ensure Republican and Trump sympathizers are assured of election. So the one who constantly cries about a rigged election is actually trying to rig an election.
Even if you WANT to put the blame on the other party, then how can you overtly and publicly say that you are “targeting” all (perceived) Democrat-related programs to cut and dispose of employees who are registered as Democrats or who are deemed to be Democrat sympathizers?
And then, while cutting programs and aid to millions of Americans, spend money on a military parade to honor Trump’s birthday? Cost of estimated $30 million. How do you spend money on a ballroom? Cost of estimated $250 million. How do you spend money on an arch to build in your honor? Cost of estimated $250 million. How do you hand money over to another country? Cost of estimated $40 billion.
How can you literally gut every agency, including non-partisan watchdog agencies without anyone stepping in to say, “Hey…you can’t do this.”?
Every check and balance to protect against an authoritarian power is being systematically dismantled. The Constitution doesn’t matter. The Rule of Law doesn’t matter. And anyone who even attempts to defy the word of the Leader, is summarily FIRED. It’s like the reality show that was in no way reality…it was all false…all a façade.
People keep talking about how great a businessman Trump was and is. That too is all false and all a façade. He is far from a great businessman. How many times did he declare bankruptcy? How many casinos did he ruin? How many people did he actually stiff for money? What happened with Trump Airlines? What happened with Trump University? What happened with all of his other business endeavors?
What Presidential candidate ever took to selling bibles? Think about that. He sold BIBLES. And people bought them!
He sold bibles and then tells a multitude of lies every day. He calls people names and intentionally tries to ruin their reputation every day. He forces his sycophants to cow tow to his every whim, and prosecute and persecute anyone he doesn’t like and perceives as a threat. But he sells bibles.
The fact is that President Trump, and his sons and son-in-law, are the ones taking the country for a ride and he is, finally, making shitloads of money. Through pure and unadulterated corruption. Bit coin. Hotel deals. Golf courses. And who is the biggest partner in all of it? Qatar. Consider that for a moment.
The scary thing is that there are people who not only believe the lies, but they are then perpetuating those lies by making the same statements that are totally false, and standing by those false statements with unwavering conviction.
Even scarier, when they are confronted with something so very wrong, they deflect, defend, make excuses. And any challenger is said to have Trump Derangement Syndrome.
The “No Kings” events led to some really absurd statements including: “If there was a king, you wouldn’t be able to have these protests.”
Really? Perhaps the “No Kings” is not the proper way to phrase it so that it is completely understood by those who are too ignorant to get it.
The people are NOT able to exercise their right to free speech. That is proven by the multi-million dollar lawsuits Donald Trump filed against news agencies that dared call out his inconsistencies, his lies, his utter bullshit. Why did two news agencies enter into a settlement? Because anyone familiar with the law knows that it is cheaper to enter into a settlement agreement rather than litigate a matter where NOBODY wins. Hence, why almost all personal injury matters settle before ever entering a courtroom. He also threatened to have their FCC licenses revoked.
Donald Trump violates those very agreements every time he tells a reporter from those agencies in a public setting, in a gathering of the media, that they are bad reporters and bad people and “that’s why you had to give me all that money you paid me.” When you enter into a settlement agreement, you are agreeing that there is no guilt admitted. That’s the very nature of the agreement. However, Donald Trump doesn’t respect or care about the rules. He has shown that. He doesn’t care about the Rule of Law. And he certainly doesn’t care about upholding and protecting the Constitution. The signing of a legal agreement, the taking of the oath of the highest office in the land means absolutely NOTHING to this horrible example of a human being.
Blowing up boats without any evidence for no other purpose than to make people think he is a strong person. Sending the military into US cities, which is a clear violation of the law, and exalting himself about it while providing absolutely false information about these cities….giving completely false statistics.
This is a person who insists he is going to bring down drug prices by 1,600%. Anyone who took 7th grade math would know that that is impossible. He didn’t make a mistake and say it once. He has repeated that impossible falsehood multiple times. Someone explain to me why, even if you really think he should be the President of the United States, you don’t think to yourself “Hey, that doesn’t make any sense…that’s mathematically impossible.”? I really want to understand.
He brags that his has stopped eight wars. Even if they are not wars, but conflicts. Even if they are not conflicts, they are “bad feelings” between the countries. Well, name them. I have asked so many people to let me know the names of these eight things that Trump has solved and not a single person can produce that list.
He keeps saying that there is no inflation, that it’s going down under his watch. Uh…no…it’s the exact opposite.
Trump repeatedly says there is a water valve that the Governor of California refused to turn on that would have saved the area from the fires. First, that’s not how the system works and, second, there is no such “valve.” Yet he repeatedly tells the same ridiculous story.
Trump told a story in which he claimed a Democratic governor with whom he has been trading public barbs, Gov. Wes Moore of Maryland, told him during a behind-the-scenes conversation last year, “‘Sir, you’re the greatest president of my lifetime.’” The story was proven to be false when Fox News showed a recorded conversation in which Moore didn’t say anything close to what Trump claimed. And rather than back down, undeterred, Trump doubled down by retelling the story yet again.
When talking about the presence of more than 26,000 American military personnel in South Korea, Trump said, “As you know, South Korea agreed to pay for that during my last term. And then when Biden came in, they complained to Biden that I wasn’t a nice person and he agreed not to pay. He gave up billions of dollars. We were getting paid billions of dollars, but then Biden ended that for whatever reason. It’s unbelievable that he did.”
That was a false statement he made while sitting right alongside South Korean President Lee Jae-myung. Biden didn’t agree to let South Korea stop sharing the cost of the US military force in the country. Rather, under Biden, South Korea signed two cost-sharing agreements with the US, in 2021 and again 2024 that included substantial increases in payments from the South Korean government.
There are hundreds, no THOUSANDS of lies that Donald Trump has told. There are reportedly TENS OF THOUSANDS of documented lies that have come out of his mouth. Just about every one of them is easily fact-checked. Some are just outright head-scratchers because anyone with a sixth-grade education would know the statement could not possibly be true.
The MAGA brain trust COUNT ON the uneducated, uninformed, vulnerable people who can be easily manipulated.
I am very big on self-awareness. If someone doesn’t like me, I have to give thought as to why. What did I do?, what am I doing that makes them not like me.? If MILLIONS of people are saying “I don’t like you…I don’t like what you are doing…” I would THINK you have to give thought to what the MILLIONS of people are saying.
Hell, if so many people were hating me, I would be in the corner chewing on my shoulder in a fetal position. Not Donald Trump.
Instead, Donald Trump confirms that he has absolutely no self-awareness, no ability to see what others might see, and will stop at nothing and run roughshod over anyone who gets in his way to achieve his own personal goals regardless of how it may affect anyone else.
Let’s see what Donald Trump had to say about sending the military into American cities and, specifically, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker.
“I told Pete we should use some of these dangerous cities as training grounds for our military…national military because we are going into Chicago. That’s a big city with an incompetent governor…a stupid governor. Stupid…they threw him out of his family business because he was so stupid. I know the family. He becomes governor. He’s got money. Not money that HE made…”
Donald Trump was the benefactor of his father’s business. Donald Trump did not make money. In fact, Donald Trump almost systematically demolished his father’s business and failed at every business attempt he made. Six bankruptcies between 1991 and 2009. He bankrupted casinos. Trump Airlines, Trump Shuttle, Trump Vodka, Trump Mortgage, Trump Magazine, Trump Steaks. Trump Fragrances – all failed. The New Jersey Generals, the USFL football team…bankrupted and personnel failed to get paid. Trump University…not only failed…but Trump was sued for fraud and deceptive practices, eventually settling for $25 million.
He is still conducting fraud and deceptive practices.
In response to the No Kings events, Donald Trump said on camera: “I’m not a king. I work my ass off to make this country great. I think it’s a joke. I looked at the people. They’re not representative of this country, and I looked at all the brand new signs paid for. I guess it was paid for by Soros and other radical left lunatics. It looks like it was. We’re checking it out. The demonstrations were very small, very ineffective and the people were whacked out. When you look at those people, those are not representative of the people of our country.”
Donald Trump has repeatedly exposed to the world who he is as a person. The group chat by the Young Republicans exposed to the world a very telling story as to where this regime is trying to take us. These are the next generation of wannabe politicians (some already in elected offices), who are openly discussing vile and disgusting racist subject matter, joked about the raping of women, and sending their opponents to the gas chambers.
Well, Donald Trump is the perfect leader for that – he has openly made racist comments during a public hearing, he has raped women, and he is working hard at destroying any political opponent and has openly used the word “treason” when referring to those he deems as the opposition. That is a charge that calls for the death penalty. So the only one person calling for someone’s death is Donald J. Trump himself.
